Year 4 (8 years – 9 years)

As a parent, we know you will want to give your child the very best start in their school life. We can do just that for you.

At Ocean Crest, we have combined the best interactive and progressive teaching method to develop an educational programme which makes learning interesting and enjoyable to your child while closely linked to the British National Curriculum.

In some areas, we allow for appropriate Nigerian curriculum where necessary to achieve broad and balanced lessons while encouraging independent thinking.

We tailor our teaching methods to the needs of the individual child. The high achiever are continually stretched while we support the slow learners with our after school remedial classes. Small class sizes provide children with personal space to discover and develop their own unique talents and a wide range of extra-curricular activities helps to extend children’s interests and learning.

Children enjoy regular outdoor learning sessions where they explore the environment, discuss the world around them and discover their creativity and develop vital problem solving skills during their many interactive session under the gazeboo in the school compound. Children receive regular Homework and parents are able to talk to their child’s class teacher at the end of every school day whilst half term and end of term reports as well as termly Open Day will keep parents up to date with their child’s progress. At OCS, children are encouraged to participate in all aspects of school life and individual strength are recognised and rewarded on a regular basis throughout the school. This will develop self confidence and mutual respect and bring out hidden talents.
